I spoke to Paul at approximately 2:40am EDT...this is after the close of business in New Zealand on Monday. Paul once again assured me that things were 100% complete. He was very short with me and did not want to engage in a conversation. He did, however, tell me that he would be in touch with the escrow attorney "in the morning". I do not know if that is his morning or ours...can only assume that it is his morning as it is now almost noon here on the East Coast of the US and we have not heard a word from him...and it would have to be banking hours in New Zealand for him to send wire transfers to us to settle these deals.
This has been a very long road and I have no idea how it will end. Paul Douglas and Gil Freire have been promising funding to us for over 10 months on these four deals. They have told us funds our coming. They have told us that they have arranged short term funding and yet, we have not seen a dime. The delays have come at inordinate financial, personal and professional stress to all of these clients as well as to me and the other parties involved. We have made commitments and obligations based on the promises of the funds that never have come and thaths caused us all significant consequences.
We will see what today brings and whether or not the escrow attorney hears from Paul to settle these deals. I sure hope that one of these days soon they come through with the funding.
